Steam Games Worst List

I have been playing PC video games since 1992. I grew up on Atari 2600 so I consider myself an old school gamer.  Back in the day, when video games were released, you could rely on the fact that you were spending your money on something fresh and new that had been tweaked and tested over and over again and for the most part, it was worth your money.  Once the game companies allowed people to buy the game and make modifications, we found ourselves with some awesome choices to sink our teeth into. With most mods you didn’t expect much , but occasionally you would come across one that was even better than the original game. Regardless of how good or bad the mod was though, it was free and you knew to expect that there would likely be issues with it.

So, why is it we have professional game development teams or companies releasing mediocre games that we are still having to pay for? The quality of some of these games is comparable to that of mods which we normally would get for free. Are these developers and companies more interested in making a quick buck or are they actually interested in the thrill of the game design? I am challenged to download all of the games in my Steam Profile and play them.  I tend to play games that I notice my Steam friends playing, but as of late, I haven’t been playing, as nothing has really stood out.

One thing I notice is Steam does not say no if you want to add the game to the platform.  In my opinion, some of these games should not even be considered worthy enough to be on Steam.  Why submit us to this choice? To my point above some games on Steam are just like downloading a mod but we’re actually paying for it.  I have to wonder what was really going on with the development team when they were making the game. When they were play testing did the conversation go something like this?:

Hey Dave, Ya, where did our new coder go?  He called in sick again.  What are we going to do?  Steve, I think we should pack the game and fix as many main bugs as we can and release it and hope that we sell at least one game.

There is obviously no proof of this happening, but we can speculate based on the quality of the games we are being subjected to more and more frequently.  So that this article would be solely based on my opinions,  I decided to do some
research and asked Steam users what they thought were the worst games on Steam. From a list of 25 games available for purchase, I was able to narrow it down the final list of 7 games which I thought were the worst of the bunch.  If you feel one is missing, please don’t hesitate to comment. (On a side note, I decided to leave Trainz off the list since only one person suggested it as a candidate for worst game on Steam. Maybe one day I will put my “conductor hat” on and play this game.)

STEAM WORST LIST

1. Rogue Warrior - Worst scored game on steam, horrible coding, game runs terrible and the story is complete garbage, characters drop the F bomb every second word.  On top of that it is a poor use of the word “video game”.

2.
Tunnel Rats - Second worst scored game on steam, created by Uwe bowl.  How the team behind this released this is amazing.  The goal of this game was to be boring to death.

3.
Ducati World Championship – I honestly think if you could play a sniper in this terrible street bike racing game to pick off the drivers it would better.  This was just done horribly wrong.

4.
Rag Doll Kung Fu - Weird game with bad mechanics.  Everyone expected it to be fun and to some it was but 3 minutes of fun only lasts 3 minutes.  Stamp boring on this one.

5.
Shadow Harvest: Phantom Ops - Ugly game, full of bugs and not finished and someone had to pay for this.

6.
Vegas Make it Big - Casino tycoon that looks like garbage, watch as ugly sims pretend to play poker!

7.
Grey’s Anatomy -Even if you’re a die hard fan of this series, you will puke every time you play this game!
